Jade Vorster Not Returning

Soon to be redshirt junior middle blocker Jade Vorster (Orlando, FL) has decided to transfer to Liberty University after she graduates this spring from UH. Hawaii head coach Dave Shoji has granted her a release allowing her to play for the 2014-15 season in Lynchburg, Virginia.
The purpose of her transfer is pursue a graduate degree in public health and to be closer with her family. Her sister Sirena is a 6'2" middle blocker who signed with Liberty and will be a freshman in the fall.
Vorster entered the Rainbow Wahine program in the spring of 2011 as she graduated early from Timber Creek HS. She redshirted the 2011 season to improve as she sat behind four other middle blockers on the team. In the 2012 season, she was named First Team All-Big West and Big West All-Freshman Team. That year she led the team in hitting percentage (.388) and blocks (116). For here sophomore year she earned Big West honorable mention and lead the team again in hitting percentage (.377) and blocks (105). In two seasons, she started all 60 matches at middle blocker.
