The Wahine open the season ranked #11 in the latest AVCA Preseason Poll. This is the 443rd time the Wahine have been in the AVCA Poll which is third all time behind Nebraska and Stanford.
Six of Hawaii's opponents are also ranked or receiving points in this poll: Texas (1), UCLA (12), Wichita State (24), Creighton (25), San Diego (RV), and Long Beach State (RV).
The next poll will come out on September 2, 2013 after the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
Good placing to start. I have a good feeling about the Texas match. No matter with the talk about how great the team is with its highly touted recruits, somehow the lower rated team has their number.
