13 Days+Ann Kang Invitational

Photo from Hawaii Athletics Instagram
The Wahine team took their team photos on Friday (Aug. 16) with their new uniforms. The uniforms remind me of Cal Poly's uniforms but they are both still nice.

Ann Kang Invitational

Teams from all over the state and some from California have traveled to Iolani Schools to compete in the Ann Kang Invitational. This tournament has been very competitive for years and has attracted many players to become interested in the University of Hawai'i (Ex: Emily Hartong, Jane Croson, Sarah Mendoza, Monica Stauber).

This season brings in California schools: Huntington Beach, Long Beach Poly, Mater Dei, Mira Costa, Sage Hill, Saint Joseph's, Windward.

From Huntington Beach is the senior duo of Gianna Guinasso and Kendra Koelsch. Koelsch is a sand recruit and Guinasso is a indoor and sand recruit. Their team had a 6-0 record after the first two days and reached the Championship match of the Gold Bracket but fell to Punahou Schools (25-15, 25-19).

  1. Nice unis. Could it be that Cal Poly is sponsored by Asics also?

  3. I'm curious is this the blog of vballfreak808? At one time I had bookmarked a blog that was owned by vballfreak808 but it looked different. One day I clicked on the bookmark and it took me here.

Anyways if it is all I can say is vballfreak808 is a moniker that I have seen on VT many times and the Cindy Lewis blog and vballfreak808 is a person who I always admired and respected for the work that they put in creating topics like the D1 Transfers and Wahine articles

vballfreak808 comes across to me as a person who enjoys bringing news to volleyball fans.

    1. That is not me and weird that happened. But I have also seen them post on VT and Volley Shots and I agree that they have helped the volleyball community with information like many other posters there.
