Beach Volleyball Summer

Current UH Sand Volleyball Players are spending their summers in California participating in many beach volleyball tournaments. Some players include Katie Spieler, Brittany Tiegs, Olivia Urban, Karlee Riggs, Sarah Mendoza and future recruits Sammie Brown, Ka'iwi Schucht, and Hi'ilawe Huddleston.

The Santa Barbara Newspaper wrote an article recently of Katie Spieler winning the Santa Barbara Open on July 6th with high school junior Torrey Van Winden who is her cousin. The duo finished first defeating Brittany Tiegs and partner Jace Pardon from Florida State.

Some of the UH members are partnering up together while others partner with friends from other top schools around the country. I am not that familiar with beach volleyball but by looking at the results, it is the real deal. There are many big name players who do not win these events and are sometimes at the bottom. But it is great training for them and it is for fun.
