The seventh ranked Rainbow Wahine came off a sweep of the South Dakota Coyotes in their first non-conference tournament since a 2006 AVCA Showcase in Nebraska. The score came out (25-19, 25-21, 25-21) but took less than ninety minutes to accomplish the win.
The Wahine were led by Tai Manu-Olevau who had a career high 13 kills to go along with five digs and Emily Hartong who had 13 kills and 13 digs. Jade Vorster who is third in the nation in hitting percentage (.510) increased it by collecting seven kills in ten attempts with no errors. Her season hitting percentage is now at (.528). Ali Longo who came into this match with 979 digs, collected 14 today and now has 993. Look for her to reach 1,000 career digs against No. 23 Creighton tomorrow.
